The scheme is an initiative of Janakalyan Sahakari Bank Limited, Chembur, Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan, and Ravindra Joshi Medical Foundation. scheme with a motive of providing easy loans at a subsidized interest rate to the needy women trapped in financial crisis due to lockdown.

Santosh Kelkar, President of Janakalyan Bank, Sanjay Pandey, Chairman of Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan and Maharashtra State secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, Sunil Mone of Ravindra Joshi Medical Foundation, and corporator Abhijeet Samant have collectively come out with this scheme with a purpose of helping self-employed women in the current economic crisis.

The first beneficiary of the scheme was Chitra Dharne. The loan was disbursed by Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

Sanjay Pandey, Chairman of Nanaji Deshmukh Prastishthan, and BJP Maharashtra State secretary said that financial transactions have come to a standstill after the lockdown due to Corona. Ordinary families are facing a severe financial crisis. Their meager savings have been exhausted in the last 2 months of the lockdown period. None has expected the crisis to reach this far especially in Mumbai, the situation is critical and it will take a couple of months for self-employed women to get back to their work in full force. Therefore we have decided to give 5000 self-employed women of underprivileged families loan of Rs. 10,000 at a subsidized interest rate of 4% for 15 months. Janakalyan Sahakari Bank Limited, Chembur will provide this loan at the rate of 8%. As per the agreement with the bank, Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan and Ravindra Joshi Medical Foundation will pay 4% of the interest rate of each beneficiary. As a result, the women concerned will have to pay only 4% interest per annum. This initiative will ensure that economically weaker families do not have to go to moneylenders for help and shouldn’t get entrapped in their vicious circle. The first 3 months have been completely waived off. Repayment of the loan

starts from the 4th month of the disbursement of the money. The first 3months are the moratorium period. The monthly EMI will only be Rs 888/-. Anyone in the family can be the guarantor for the loan. These subsidized loans will help women to run their household or start a small business like fruit or vegetable selling or tiffins. Mahila Atmanirbharta Karj Sahay Yojana scheme is implemented for women in Mumbai. This is our initiative towards women empowerment.
